We repair tablets of every brand at all five Talk N Fix Wireless stores. Tablets take a particular kind of damage - they are large, thin and usually get dropped flat - and they are held together differently from phones, with more adhesive and more glass to work around.
What tablets come in with
- Cracked or shattered glass across the face, often spidering from one corner
- Touch that has died in a strip, usually along the edge nearest the impact
- The tablet will not charge, or only charges propped at an angle
- It holds charge for a fraction of what it used to
- It will not power on, or it shows the logo and stops there
- The screen is lifting away from the frame, which on a tablet often means the battery underneath is swelling
- It went in water and has been unpredictable since
If the glass is lifting away from the frame on a tablet, stop charging it and bring it in. On a device this size a swelling battery has room to do real damage before it becomes obvious.

We check the glass, the display under it and the battery, because on a tablet a single drop often damages more than one of the three.
Written quote
Priced for your exact model. Tablet glass varies enormously in price between models, so this is not a figure we can give over a counter without knowing which one you have.
Stock check
We tell you whether your part is on the shelf, which is what decides your timing.
The repair
Tablets are bonded with far more adhesive than phones and are opened with heat and patience rather than force. The seal is replaced on reassembly.
Testing
Touch is tested across the full face, along with charging and the cameras, before it goes back to you.
Handover
You see it working before you pay, and the warranty runs from that day.
How long a tablet repair takes
iPad parts are stocked, so most iPad work is same day. Other tablet brands are ordered.
Tablet work is also slower on the bench than phone work, because of how much adhesive holds a tablet together.
The rule is the same across everything we repair: common devices and common parts are same-day, usually 30 to 45 minutes while you wait. Rarer devices and less common parts are ordered, which means 24 hours or more.

What makes the price go up or down
We do not publish a fixed price for this repair, because the price depends on what we find once the device is open.
You get a written quote after the free diagnostic, and nothing is started until you approve it. If something beyond the original fault turns up during the repair, we stop, tell you what we have found, and quote again before we go any further.

Which tablet brands do you repair?
All of the major ones - iPad across every model, Galaxy Tab, Amazon Fire, Lenovo, Surface and others.
Is an iPad repair same day?
Usually, yes. We stock iPad parts, which is what makes the difference. Other brands are ordered per repair, so allow 24 hours or more on those.
The screen is lifting at one edge. What does that mean?
Most often a swelling battery pushing the display out of the frame. Stop charging it and bring it in - that one does not wait.
Can you replace a tablet battery?
Yes. iPad batteries are stocked and are usually same day; other brands are ordered per repair.
Will I lose what is on it?
No. Standard tablet repairs do not touch your storage.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk-ins are welcome at all five stores.
