Micro-soldering and board-level repair in North Jersey
When a phone will not show an image, will not charge after the port has already been replaced, or has come back from another shop as unfixable, the fault is usually on the logic board itself. Repairing a board is different work from replacing a part, and it is done in house, at our own bench. If we cannot fix the board, you do not pay.
What a board-level fault looks like
- The phone powers on but the screen stays black, and you can see a faint image under a torch
- No image at all, though the device still rings, vibrates, or is seen by a computer
- A new screen was fitted somewhere and the display still does not work
- It will not charge even though the charging port has already been replaced
- It shows the logo and restarts, over and over, in a loop that never finishes
- One spot on the back gets hot and the battery drains while the device sits idle
- It went in water, dried out, and has been failing in ways that keep changing
- No service or no signal, with the network hardware at fault rather than the SIM
- Another shop has already looked at it and told you it cannot be fixed
These are the faults that get a device turned away at most counters, because none of them are solved by swapping a part. They are solved by repairing the board itself under a microscope. If you have already been told your device is finished, bring it here before you write it off.

The Process
Step by step
Free diagnostic
The board comes out and goes under the microscope. We find the actual point of failure rather than guessing at it.
Quote on findings
Board work is priced on what the board needs, so the quote comes after the diagnosis rather than before it. Nothing starts until you approve it.
Routing, if you are not at a bench store
Ferry Street and Passaic Street have the benches. Devices move between our stores every day, so a board left at any of the five reaches a bench the same day or the next.
The repair
Component-level work under magnification: failed ICs replaced, damaged traces rebuilt, corrosion cleaned back off the board.
Data recovery
We attempt data recovery on every board job, every time, and it is part of the same quote rather than an extra charge.
Testing and handover
The board is tested before it goes back in, then the whole device is tested. You see it working before you pay, and if we could not fix it you pay nothing.
How long board-level work takes
Board work is quoted on what the board needs rather than by the clock. There is no stopwatch on this one, and we will not invent one.
Board-level work does not follow the parts rule below either. The time goes into diagnosis and bench work, not into waiting for a component to arrive.

Expect to leave the device with us. This is bench work, not counter work.
The rule is the same across everything we repair: common devices and common parts are same-day, usually 30 to 45 minutes while you wait. Rarer devices and less common parts are ordered, which means 24 hours or more.
Call your nearest store with your model before you travel and we will tell you which of the two you are.
Warranty
30-day warranty on every repair and sale. 6-month and 1-year warranty options available.
What makes the price go up or down
We do not publish a fixed price for this repair, because the price depends on what we find once the device is open.
You get a written quote after the free diagnostic, and nothing is started until you approve it. If something beyond the original fault turns up during the repair, we stop, tell you what we have found, and quote again before we go any further.
You are never charged for work you have not agreed to. For a figure on your exact model, call your nearest store.
Stores that perform this repair
Every one of our five stores takes board-level work. Two of them have the bench; the other three take your device in and get it there. You do not need to work out which is which, so go to whichever store is nearest.

What does board-level repair actually mean?
It means repairing the logic board itself instead of replacing a part attached to it. Screens, batteries and ports are parts you swap out. When the fault is on the board, it has to be traced to an individual component and repaired under a microscope.
Another shop said my device cannot be fixed. Is that the end of it?
Not necessarily. In most shops "cannot be fixed" means "cannot be fixed by swapping a part", because that is where their repair stops. Bring it in. If we cannot fix it, you pay nothing.
Do all five stores do this work?
All five take it in. Ferry Street and Passaic Street have the micro-soldering benches in house, and the other three accept the job and send it to one of those two. Go to whichever store is nearest to you.
What happens if you cannot repair the board?
You pay nothing. Board work here is no fix, no fee.
Can you get my photos off a device that will not turn on?
We attempt data recovery on every board job, every time, and it is part of the quote rather than an extra. Bring it in even if you think the device itself is beyond saving.
Which chips can you replace?
Charging IC, backlight IC, audio IC, touch IC and baseband among others, along with boot loops and short-circuit diagnosis.
Is board work covered by the warranty?
Yes, the same terms as every other repair we do.
